Pablo and the other victims of this terrible act are in our thoughts.
On Thursday, shortly after Arsenal's 2-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the
Netherlands, Mikel Arteta was questioned about Mari's health.
He remarked, "I just learned — I know [Arsenal technical director] Edu has
been in touch with his family.
"He's in the hospital and appears to be doing fine, but I'll get a briefing
on the circumstances right now. We'll keep in touch with him to see if he's
alright."
Adriano Galliani, CEO of Monza, provided more information regarding the
situation.
Pablo Mari was described by Sky Italy as saying, "Pablo Mari had a very
serious incision on his back, which fortunately did not touch essential
organs such as the lungs or other." His recovery should be swift because his
life is not in risk.
In the off-season, Mari transferred from Arsenal to the Serie A team on
loan. He moved from Flamengo to the Premier League team in 2020.
Police in Assago, a suburb of Milan, apprehended a 46-year-old Italian man
accused in the attack at a retail mall, according to the carabinieri.
The ANSA news agency reported that a grocery employee passed away on the way
to the hospital and that three other victims were in critical condition.
Police stated that the individual had characteristics of being
psychologically unstable, albeit they did not know why he carried out the
crimes.
