YouTube channels will finally stop showing Shorts in the Videos tab

Following this week's major makeover, YouTube is introducing a really welcome update that will prevent Shorts from showing up in the same tab as Videos on Channel pages. The short-form format has spread throughout the entire service because to YouTube's push for shorts. YouTube is now introducing distinct tabs for videos, livestreams, and shorts in place of all material showing on the single "Videos" page after receiving "feedback." As businesses flocked to the format, the combined default behaviour of YouTube's new filters—which weren't sticky—was terrible for clogging up the feed with vertical thumbnails with short titles and "#shorts." Scrolling became very unpleasant as regular videos were crowded out.

We're thrilled to introduce this to you all since we've heard that it will make it simpler for viewers to find the types of material they are most interested in when exploring a creator's channel page.

Shorts tab: Only Shorts are displayed here. You will be immediately redirected to this new tab to continue watching Shorts while you are currently viewing Shorts in the Shorts feed and select a creator's channel from the feed.

Live tab: This page contains all streams, whether they are scheduled, active, or archived.

Long-form content will continue to be housed in the Videos tab.

Additionally, there are filters for "Popular" and "Recently uploaded." This will begin to roll out today and become completely accessible "across all devices" over the next few weeks.
